ROCKFORD — Alderwoman Janessa Neal was sworn in Monday night to serve as acting mayor for the next eight months following the resignation of Mayor Tom McNamara.
Neal, 41, will continue to represents the city’s 7th Ward as its alderwoman while serving as acting mayor. She’ll serve in both roles until a newly elected mayor is sworn in on May 3. Although Neal took the oath on Monday, her tenure doesn’t officially begin until Sunday…
