A judge sentenced a 58-year-old Springfield man to 30 years in prison on Aug. 21 for killing a Clark County, Washington, woman in a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by the victim’s husband.
Darrell E. Riley pleaded guilty at the Clark County Superior Court in Washington on May 15 to a single count of first-degree murder with premeditation for the death of 60-year-old Lindy Rummell, while his co-conspirator, James Rummell, 52, underwent a jury trial in August and was found guilty of aggravated first-degree murder constituting domestic violence and solicitation. Rummell was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
