PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s a First Alert Weather Day with an Extreme Heat Warning in effect for the Valley through 8 p.m. Saturday. First Alert days continue through Saturday for temperatures that will continue to run 5 to 10 degrees above normal.
Look for an afternoon high of 113 degrees today in the Valley, with temperatures peaking Wednesday and Thursday near 114 degrees. These are near-record temperatures for late August in Phoenix. Morning temperatures don’t bring much relief, with overnight lows expected to only drop to the upper 80s to low 90s.
A High Pollution Advisory is also in effect today in the Valley for ozone. Carpooling is encouraged, and people with respiratory difficulties should limit their time outside…
