The Indiana Department of Homeland Security announced Aug. 24 via Facebook that they had received approval from the Family and Social Service Administration to extend the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program deadline for replacement benefits after the recent flooding across the state.
53 counties were affected by Governor Mike Braun’s disaster emergency declaration, and those same counties now are able to submit their affidavits for replacement benefits until Aug. 31.
According to the FSSA’s website, “Households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits who lost food due to storm damage or power outages may be eligible for replacement benefits.”…
