ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– On Tuesday, the New York State Liquor Authority announced that two businesses failed their underage drinking compliance check on August 20. According to the SLA, Noor Mart in Watervliet and Island Spirits LLC. in Cohoes reportedly sold alcohol to a minor.

The SLA said seven licensed storefronts across Albany County were checked for compliance under the New York Beverage Control Law, which prohibits the sale of alcohol to any person under the age of 21. In each check, an underaged SLA agent went into the store and was only sold alcohol from two locations.
Officials said employees or licensees can be arrested and charged and if someone is found using someone else’s ID or using a fake ID, they can be arrested as well. According to the SLA, the licensees who are charged by the SLA with underage sales can face up to $10,000 in civil penalties and upwards of $4,000 in fines.

The following establishments were recognized for their compliance with the New York Beverage Control Law, according to the SLA:
- Dpitstop6, in Watervliet
- 19th St Quick Stop in Watervliet
- Khip Sansar Foodmart Inc in Watervliet
- Broadway Valuemart in Watervliet
- K and K Albany Inc in Watervliet
According to the SLA, two licensees have not been formally charged, but the SLA is recommending charges be filed.
