Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police grabbed seven guns and filed charges against four individuals. A caller had spotted five young males carrying long guns and wearing ski masks at The Union apartments on Aug. 9. Officers held eight suspects. They recovered weapons — three had automatic conversion switches.
The scene unfolded at the building near University City Boulevard and Mallard Creek Church Road. A witness dialed police after watching the armed group move in and out of apartment 2302. One wore an ankle monitor.
