FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A mural of Dolly Parton inside a Fountain Inn boutique has been transformed into a memorial, where folks have dropped off items ranging from flowers to guitar picks.
The mural is located inside Swanky Steer. Inside the store Tuesday, Parton’s music played all afternoon.
“It is definitely something that people walk through these doors and always say something about Dolly,” said Kristen Gault, owner of Swanky Steer.
A source of support during cancer treatment
Gault said Parton has long been one of her favorite country music stars. Nine years ago, while Gault was battling breast cancer, Parton’s words helped her get through treatment.
“She has a quote that said ‘sometimes you have to put up with the rain to get the rainbow.’ How true is that? During my cancer diagnosis I wasn’t promised tomorrow. I’m still not promised tomorrow, but I’m here and God is good,” Gault said…
