GREENVILLE, S.C. — A USC Upstate choir was performing Dolly Parton’s “Nine to Five” at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greenville when Parton died, according to the group.
The USC Upstate Gospel Choir rehearsed Tuesday afternoon ahead of the performance. Student Sunasia Saxon said the group ran through songs for about an hour during sound check and rehearsal went smoothly.
“I went out there, well first during sound check, we went through songs for like an hour, five times, and everything was perfect,” Saxon said.
