AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – A convicted drug trafficker who shot at an Akron Police officer was sentenced to 20 to 25.5 years in prison across three cases.
According to a release from the Summit County Prosecutor, Rodney Andrus, Jr., 29, pleaded guilty to one count of having weapons while under disability, with a specification for forfeiture of a weapon
Andrus also pleaded no contest to the following:
- One count of aggravated trafficking in drugs with a major drug offender specification and a specification for forfeiture of money in a drug case;
- One count of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound with a major drug offender specification and a specification for forfeiture of money in a drug case;
- One count of felonious assault with a seven-year firearm specification;
- Two counts of having weapons while under Disability with six specifications for forfeiture of a weapon while under disability;
- One count of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation or a school safety zone
- Two counts of having weapons while under disability, with one count including six specifications for forfeiture of a weapon while under disability;
- One count of discharge of firearm on or near prohibited premises
- One count of tampering with evidence
