ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A high-speed police chase early Friday morning resulted in the arrest of a suspect in two Rockford convenience store robberies.
According to Rockford Police, officers were called to the area of Auburn Street and N. Horsman Street around 2 a.m. Friday, August 21, for a warrant check. Officers say they were able to locate Robert Phinnessee Jr, 31, of Rockford, in his vehicle, and he allegedly fled from officers.
Police later tracked down Phinnessee Jr. near Chestnut Street and Tay Street, but he failed to pull over and continued driving, disregarding a stoplight and stop sign, and at one point driving the wrong way on a one-way street, court documents say…
