ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man with an active warrant is charged with several firearm and cocaine charges.
On Tuesday, Rockford Police executed a search warrant at a house on Cunningham Street, where police say detectives found several grams of a white, rock-like substance, which tested positive for cocaine. According to court documents, detectives also found a loaded handgun with a defaced serial number.
Police said the suspect, Zacharie T. Carner, 27, of Rockford, admitted to having the cocaine and handgun. According to prosecutors, Carner told arresting officers he was trying to sell enough cocaine to get by, as he did not have a job, and on August 23, the handgun was given to him by a friend who asked Carner to store it for him, out of fear that police were going to execute a search warrant on his house…
