GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of Our Community focused on how research, innovation and data could help move the city forward.
“We have big strategic partners that want to come here because of the talent pipeline, but because of the ability of the universities, which by definition have a bigger graduate pipelines and graduate students tend to stay put when they graduate. That was one part of a much larger conversation at the Greensboro Chamber’s State of Our Community luncheon,” NC A&T State University Chancellor James Martin II said.

Leaders talked about attracting companies, preparing workers for new jobs and keeping more college graduates in the area.
“I think that’s the most immediate impact we can have here locally, both for the companies but for the community. They’re going to be taxpayers and be consumers, but they’re not going to be if they leave. Given that we have about 50,000, 58,000, almost 60,000 alums within a circle of 20 miles from here.
