County Commissioners Also Getting Knee Deep In Data Center Debate

For the last several months, the Greensboro City Council has been up to its neck in the increasingly contentious debate over massive data centers. Now the Guilford County Board of Commissioners is getting pulled into the water as well.

County commissioners are planning an upcoming work session on data centers, and the subject was one of the hottest topics at the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Annual Conference held Thursday, Aug. 20 through Saturday, Aug. 22 in Durham.

The conference drew county commissioners and staff from across the state, and one of the featured sessions was “Data Centers: Opportunities, Challenges, and Considerations for North Carolina Counties.”…
