Carpinteria’s state-mandated housing obligations — and what those obligations do and do not mean for development in the city — were the focus of the Aug. 20 Community Matters meeting hosted by City Councilmember Wade Nomura at Carpinteria City Hall.
The presentation focused on the Regional Housing Needs Allocation, commonly known as RHNA, Carpinteria’s Housing Element and the state’s Builder’s Remedy provisions. City Manager Michael Ramirez was also on hand to discuss the issues from a city planning perspective.
