Person taken into protective custody after barricading themselves in room with weapons in Whitehall Twp., police say

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Authorities say they took a person into protective custody after they barricaded themselves in a room with weapons in Whitehall Township Wednesday afternoon.

Township police officers responded to the 2000 block of Columbia Avenue to help Lehigh County Crisis Intervention Services with an involuntary commitment for psychiatric placement warrant, the Whitehall Township Police Department said in a news release.
