Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) has acquired more than 40 acres in Celina, Texas, apparently for its second store in that fast-growing town, The Dallas Morning News reports. The first Walmart in Celina opened on the town’s south side in May.
Walmart is “always looking for opportunities to better serve our customers and communities,” said Kim Cooper, spokesperson for the company told the newspaper, adding that there are no further details to share at this time.
“A retailer like Walmart does not commit to a site until the rooftops justify it, and Celina now has those rooftops,” said Rex Glendenning, owner of Rex Real Estate, which sold the land to Walmart for an undisclosed price…
