WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Multiple people and dogs were forced from their home overnight after a fire ignited inside an apartment in Southeast D.C.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) was dispatched to a working fire in the 3500 block of 22nd Street SE.

When crews arrived at the scene, firefighters located flames coming from the kitchen of a first-floor apartment. First responders contained the blaze to the kitchen.
