Urban renewal funds to help Maverik pay for required sidewalk

A Salt Lake City gas station chain is set to open a new location on Eisenman Rd., and will get nearly $200,000 in urban renewal funds for the project.

The Capital City Development Corp. voted to approve as much as $198,796 in funds to reimburse money Maverik is spending to build a sidewalk, put in street trees, and make upgrades to the sewer and water lines.

“This project addresses several criteria for Type 1 Participation, including activation of a dormant site and promoting connectivity and mobility,” CCDC wrote in a memo about the project…
