I have been saying for YEARS that Western New York needs a venue that holds medium sized concerts and it looks like it is finally official for the Buffalo area!
Venues that can do concerts in Western New York are all over the place, but tours and artists have to skip Buffalo sometimes when they were looking for that space that can sell tickets holding 5,000-7,000 tickets.
Here are some of the concert venues around Western New York:
Highmark Stadium (home of the Buffalo Bills) = 60,000
- Key Bank Center = 19,000
- Shea’s = 2,500
- UB Center for the arts = 2,500
- Town Ballroom = 1,000
Of course, these are all approximate amount of tickets because it all depends on how the venues are set up for the stage among other things.
What is the new concert venue in Western New York?
The Kenan Civic Arena is located at 195 Beattie Ave, Lockport, NY 14094 and is expected to hold a ton of events in the Lockport area, including having the capacity to have concerts that hold up to 5,000 people.
The project cost over $16 million and it is absolutely beautiful for the Lockport residents and I am sure there will be a time that all of us get up there to enjoy a concert. Take a look at the new arena down below…
