TREASURE ISLAND, FL — A pair of alleged scammers is accused of stealing $1.5 million in jewels and precious metals as part of an elaborate scheme. According to the Treasure Island Police Department, the investigation began in February after a resident reported the items being stolen.
The suspects, identified as James Arthur Graves Graham Jr., 24, and Alnesha Bianca Handy, 35, allegedly posed as bank employees in the scheme. The scam started with the victim being told that their bank accounts and credit cards had been compromised.
