H-E-B hosted a grand reopening celebration Friday at its Alameda and Robert location in Corpus Christi, marking the completion of a major remodel of the store that first opened at the site in 1984.
The festive event ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4320 S. Alameda St., beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that kicked off the day’s activities at 10 a.m.
The newly remodeled store showcased expanded product selections and an updated layout, according to the company. The extensive renovations transformed the shopping experience for customers who had frequented the location for decades.
“We changed our format in the store. We have a brand new product assortment and selection available, an upgraded meat market, an upgraded fish selection, a brand new sushi area, bakery, deli, lots of new refrigeration throughout the store, really just expanding the shopping experience for our customers and upgrading it over the last 40 years,” said Beth Dattomo, Senior Manager, Public Affairs H-E-B.
Throughout the day, the grocer offered product sampling, fish and primal meat cutting, and a parmesan wheel-cracking demonstration. Live entertainment filled the store as the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and King High School performed for shoppers.
