For years, Bahama Breeze offered Georgia diners a taste of the tropics without leaving the state. Now, the restaurant chain’s final Georgia location is preparing to close its doors, marking the end of the brand’s presence in the state.
Final Georgia location
The Bahama Breeze at 755 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway NW in Kennesaw will serve its final customers on Saturday, August 29, according to Darden Restaurants, the chain’s parent company. The closure will leave Georgia without a Bahama Breeze location.
The Kennesaw restaurant was the last remaining Bahama Breeze in the state after the company closed its Duluth location on April 5.
The Kennesaw location will not remain vacant for long, however. Darden plans to convert the restaurant into a Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. The conversion is expected to take roughly three weeks, with the new restaurant scheduled to open September 23.
End of an era for Bahama Breeze
The closure is part of Darden’s larger decision to wind down the Bahama Breeze brand. In February, the restaurant company announced plans to close 14 of its 28 Bahama Breeze locations while converting the other 14 into different Darden-owned restaurant concepts.
