A 37-year-old Michigan man living in Winter Haven faces multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence, striking a mailbox, and physically scuffling with responding law enforcement, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Grady Judd detailed the incident, identifying the suspect as Jose Zavala.
According to Judd, authorities were alerted by a bystander in southeast Winter Haven who called dispatch to report an erratic motorist. The caller warned dispatchers that someone needed to respond before the driver “kills himself or someone else.”…
