Scattered storms possible tonight across Lafayette area

Tonight, we anticipate variable clouds with a chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm across the region. Slightly drier air will work its way to the surface, making the air feel a bit less oppressive than usual. However, this drier air will allow high temperatures to climb into the mid to upper 90s.

Similar conditions are expected during Sunday, with very little rain expected as dew points drop from the mid-70s in the morning to the mid to upper 60s in the afternoon. Early next week, a wave accompanying much deeper tropical moisture will move across the region, significantly increasing chances for precipitation from Monday afternoon through Wednesday. This could bring some much needed relief to the drought conditions in the area…
