As Ann Arbor Public Schools students prepare to return to school Monday, the Ann Arbor Education Association — the city’s public school teachers and staff members’ union — reached a tentative contract agreement with the district earlier this week.
AAPS teachers have been working according to the exact terms of their previous collective bargaining agreement, which expired Dec. 31, 2025, without completing any unpaid tasks outside of scheduled hours like grading and responding to emails.
