NEW YORK — Jarrell Daniels found an ally in his fight to tamp down gang violence in the most unlikely of people — the prosecutor who put him behind bars for six years.
After being convicted for shooting a rival gang member, Daniels, now 31, is a PhD student in psychology and social intervention at New York University .
