Albuquerque TED Talk challenges hundreds of attendees to ‘reframe’ their perspectives

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s a big event that only happens once a year in Albuquerque, where hundreds of people come to be inspired and motivated.

Since 2010, TEDxABQ has been hosting its TED talk event, attracting hundreds of people every year. “Leadership isn’t about what you started; leadership is about what you choose to do with everything you learn when you had to survive,” said Angel Garcia, TEDxABQ speaker. It’s a special occasion in Albuquerque for people to feel inspired.

“I’m just expecting to see a lot of wonderful speakers and get education and knowledge on health care and mental health and just to have so fun too,” said Amy Lueck, an attendee. This year’s theme was “Reframe” the way people think about the world and themselves.

“Expectations are premeditated disappointments,” said Natasha Schwartzwald, another TEDxABQ speaker. A total of 18 speakers, all from New Mexico with diverse backgrounds, got their moment in the spotlight. Each of them challenged their audience to reframe their thinking with topics like relationships, jobs, health and social dynamics…
