LEBANON, Ore. – A free community event in Lebanon is drawing massive crowds while inspiring the next generation to consider careers in skilled trades.
Steel & Steam is a rebranded and expanded version of “Dozer Days,” which originally began in 2024 as a one-time tour of the Rick Franklin Corporation in Lebanon.
“We wanted to open it up to the community, and so we showcased all of our things, and that weekend was such a big hit that people were asking about this event as if it was ongoing, and so we decided we should probably do it again,” said Nancy Randall, director of Santiam Excursions. “So this year we decided, okay, it’s got to be a real thing for the community.”…
