Man accused of dragging dog 3.5 miles behind vehicle in Horry County

LORIS, S.C. — A 26-year-old man is facing multiple animal cruelty charges after the Horry County Police Department said a dog was tied to the back of a vehicle and dragged for about 3.5 miles.

Horry County police said officers responded Friday to the Loris area after a witness reported seeing a dog being dragged behind a vehicle along Cherry Hill Road.
