Dover mayor faces new police lawsuit over wiretapping allegations

A Dover police lieutenant has filed a defamation lawsuit against the town and municipal officials over allegations he was involved in a police effort to illegally wiretap Town Hall phone lines.

A county investigation released last year determined that Mayor James Dodd’s wiretapping allegations were unfounded.

The town, Dodd and business administrator/CFO Edward Ramirez are named as defendants in a complaint and jury demand filed by Lt. Oxmani Corona on Aug. 25 in state Superior Court in Morristown…
