A three-day event billed as the Monumental Experience Wellness Weekend lands in Raleigh next weekend, opening Friday evening with a mental health-focused dinner and closing Sunday night with a networking social at a Glenwood South lounge. Organizer Charlie Williams designed the September 4-6 lineup to move attendees through mental wellness, fitness, and community connection over three consecutive days.
The weekend kicks off with the “Mind Your Mental” dinner at Sugar House on Glenwood Avenue from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, according to CBS 17. The dinner will feature a private chef leading discussions about mental wellness and meaningful conversation, and will give attendees networking opportunities with wellness-minded leaders, athletes, entrepreneurs, and community members. Sugar House itself is a relatively new addition to the Glenwood South corridor, having opened in early 2026 as a dessert and cocktail bar in the space that formerly housed Cortado coffee shop, according to a Reddit discussion among local residents.
Urban Run Club, described as a featured sponsor of the weekend, will join the Friday dinner as part of its role in the event. The nonprofit is a 501(c)(3) organization with nearly 1,000 active members that celebrates Black culture and promotes health, wellness, and community through free weekly runs in downtown Raleigh, according to the group’s Heylo listing. Those runs are open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels.
