Two Capital Region men are celebrating life-changing lottery wins, with one taking home more than $11 million and the other collecting nearly $4.5 million.
Albany resident Edward Stack won the top prize in the New York Lottery’s Millionaire for Life game after matching all six numbers in the May 21st drawing. The ticket was the first New York top-prize win of Millionaire for Life, New York Lottery’s newest multi-state draw game.
What Did He Decide To Do?
Stack had the choice of receiving $1 million a year for life, guaranteed for at least 20 years, or taking a one-time payment of $18 million. He chose the lump sum and received $11,718,001 after taxes and other withholdings.
According to the New York Lottery, he said winning felt great and plans to invest the money. His advice for anyone hoping to become the next lottery millionaire is simple: “Just play.”…
