BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A family in Michigan now has closure after a body found in Birmingham in 2020 has been identified as a man missing since 2017.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Monday that human remains found on July 5, 2020 in the 6200 block of 2nd Avenue North belong to Willie Warren Tansil, Jr., 58, of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Tansil’s family first reported him missing to the Grand Rapids Police Department in 2017. Despite years of searching by family and law enforcement, he was never found.
