GRETNA, La. (WVUE) – A Jefferson Parish judge has ruled the lease behind the controversial Gretna brewpub project unconstitutional, delivering a major setback to a development built with more than $10 million in taxpayer money.
Judge Donald “Chick” Foret issued the ruling Monday in the legal fight involving Port Orleans Brewing, Jefferson Facilities Inc. and Jefferson Parish.
Foret ruled the leases between Port Orleans Brewing Co., Avo Taco and JFI amounted to an unconstitutional donation of public funds to private entities. The leases were declared null and void…
