A routine check for a plumbing leak led a local landlord to discover a woman who had allegedly been held captive inside an unfinished attic for six weeks, according to authorities.
The discovery occurred last Sunday when landlord Qing Sun and her husband went to their multifamily rental property on Summer Street to locate the source of a water leak. While inspecting the house, current tenants initially blocked the couple from entering specific rooms. Sun and her husband entered the building anyway and eventually went up to the unfinished attic.
Once inside the attic, the couple found a man and a woman. The man quickly ran past them and fled the scene. Sun called 911 immediately, prompting an emergency response from local police…
