MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 28-year-old Ohio man wanted on out-of-state warrants was arrested Friday afternoon following a reckless driving pursuit, a series of break-ins, and a foot chase through Islamorada that ended in the water.
Deputies first attempted to pull over a Dodge SUV around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 near Mile Marker 83 after clocking the vehicle at 63 mph in a 45-mph zone. The driver, identified as Brandon Lee May of East Liberty, Ohio, refused to stop and sped into a nearby Publix grocery store parking lot, where he drove recklessly and endangered pedestrians.
