U.S. Marshals Capture Mississippi Murder Suspect in Indianapolis After Deadly Mound Bayou Shooting and Warrant Tied to 20-Year-Old Victim

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — A Mississippi murder suspect wanted in a fatal Delta shooting was arrested Oct. 7 in Indianapolis by the U.S. Marshals Service, authorities said.

Izeekia Sanders, 20, had been sought by the Mound Bayou Police Department on charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Police linked him to a Sept. 20 shooting near the 500 block of Stringer Avenue in Mound Bayou, where officers found a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, Armad Gant, died at the scene.

A second man was also shot and later released from a hospital after treatment.
