The City of San Bernardino will bring the community together on Saturday, November 7, for a special Veterans Day Parade and Route 66 Centennial Celebration honoring the men and women who have served our nation while celebrating the city’s historic connection to the Mother Road.
The daylong celebration will combine a patriotic tribute to local veterans and military families with a community parade, classic car display, live entertainment, food vendors and activities for the entire family. The free event will also serve as the culmination of the city’s Route 66 Centennial festivities, commemorating the highway’s 100th anniversary.
“San Bernardino has a special place in the history of Route 66, and this celebration gives us a proud opportunity to honor the patriotism of the veterans and military families who have given so much to our country while recognizing that heritage” said Mayor Helen Tran. “We invite residents, families and visitors to join us for a day of community, pride and celebration as we mark this historic centennial year.”…
