City of Tulsa says some January utility bills will arrive this week

TULSA, Okla. — The City of Tulsa announced several January billing cycles will arrive to utility customers this week.

The City said utility customers whose bills arrive late will have a 10-day grace period before late fees are assessed.

According to the City, a lack of meter readers is the main reason why utility bills are arriving late. Weather and newer staffer also contributed to a delay in meter reads.

If your bill arrives late, the original due date at the top of the bill will remain the same but you will have a 10-day grace period before late fees are assessed. The grace period will be noted on the lower part of the bill under “Important Notice.”

The City said customers may receive two utility bills this month, one for the previous month and one for the current month. They are not being double billed for the same month.

If you are outside city limits, or can’t get through to 311 due to your location, you can reach Customer Care by calling 918-596-2100.

The City also said customers needing to set up a payment can call 311. New payment plans can be set up through the 311 automated system without needing to speak to an agent.
