Hot, humid weather grips Northeast Ohio with storm chances through Friday

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Heat and humidity will be the main weather story across Northeast Ohio on Wednesday, with the Cleveland metro now included in a heat advisory.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland expanded the heat advisory Wednesday morning to cover portions of North Central Ohio and the Cleveland area, including Cuyahoga, Lorain and Medina counties. The advisory runs from noon to 8 p.m.

Forecasters said peak heat index values could approach 100 degrees in the advisory area. Some locations may fall just short of that mark, but the early-season heat and humid nights could still increase the risk of heat-related illness…
