Summa Health’s finances go dark after for-profit sale

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Summa Health will not say whether it made or lost money in 2025, leaving the public in the dark about the finances of one of Akron’s central healthcare institutions.

While Summa reported $2.2 billion in revenue in its recently released 2025 annual report, it does not list expenses, making it impossible to know whether the health system ended the year with a loss or gain.
