Driver dies after fiery Turnpike crash in North Royalton: OSHP

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a fiery crash left one driver dead on the Ohio Turnpike on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the highway patrol, a trooper with the Hiram Post responded to a two-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of the turnpike, near the state Route 82 underpass in North Royalton, just after 2 p.m.

Officials said a preliminary investigation revealed a commercial vehicle pulling a trailer hit the back of a semi tractor trailer.

After the collision, the commercial vehicle went off the side of the road and caught fire, investigators.
