Life for Carlin began in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland, in the St. Patrick Parish where his family worshiped. It’s where he went to elementary school and he remembers it as a “great neighborhood in which to grow up.”
He went on to attend St. Ignatius High School but as graduation drew near, he still was undecided about his future. “I was interested in the law and in the priesthood,” he said, He decided to attend Borromeo Seminary, the college seminary in the Diocese of Cleveland, “to see if this was really for me.”…
