Sandy Valley names longtime coach, educator to leadership post

Sandy Valley Local Schools has named Drew Meister as its new assistant principal and athletic director, bringing decades of experience in education and athletics to the Magnolia district, according to a community announcement.

Meister joins the district after more than 25 years working in schools as a teacher, coach and administrator, with experience spanning both K-12 and collegiate settings.

In the dual role, Meister is expected to support academic priorities while overseeing the district’s athletic programs, according to the announcement. Meister said the opportunity to join the district is rooted in building connections with students and the broader community.

“I am excited to join the Sandy Valley family,” Meister said. “My goal is to be a visible and approachable support to students, staff, and families while building on the strong traditions already in place.
