Truck parking area coming to Green along Interstate 77

GREEN — A new truck parking area is coming to the City of Green along Interstate 77 northbound south of Graybill Road.

In 2024, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine directed the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to address the need for additional commercial truck parking sites. According to ODOT, in 2023, trucks logged 27.3 million miles on Ohio roads. ODOT also estimates freight volume will increase 26% by 2024.

Justin Chesnic, ODOT District 4 public information officer, said construction of the location in Green is ongoing with a targeted completion date of October. He said the location will include parking for commercial trucks, trash receptacles, lighting and primitive restrooms (non-flush facility contained within a permanent shelter)…
