New gazebo at Lakemore’s Dodds Park to host weddings July 17

LAKEMORE — After two years of fundraising, a new 18-by-18-foot community gazebo at Dodds Park, 2425 Lakeside Drive, is completed and open.

And the first formal event at the new gazebo will be particularly festive one July 17 from 1 to 2 p.m. when the village and Akron Municipal Court partner to offer wedding ceremonies to couples, with Lakemore Mayor Richard Cole presiding.

According to Akron Municipal Court officials, appointments for weddings are first-come, first-served and must be scheduled and paid for before the date of the ceremony. Couples must also obtain a marriage license from Summit County Probate Court prior to the event, and pay a cash-only ceremony fee at the Akron Municipal Courthouse, 172 S. Broadway St. in downtown Akron, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m…
