AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo and Akron Public Schools are partnering for the APS Backpack Adventure at the zoo Aug. 11-12 from 4-8 p.m.
The free event is for Akron Public Schools children in grades K-5. Students will receive free zoo admission and a backpack with school supplies. Up to two guests will also receive free admission with each participating student. Tickets for additional guests are $3 each. No registration is needed for the event, according to an APS Facebook post.
School representatives from all six Akron Public Schools clusters will be at the event to register children for kindergarten. Akron Children’s Hospital staff will offer wellness checks and immunizations for interested families…
