Silver Lake police are looking for the person who fired multiple shots near the village boathouse Wednesday night, a quick burst of gunfire that cut through the usual lakeside calm. Officers were called to the Silver Lake Boathouse around 8:40 p.m., after neighbors reported hearing several rounds and seeing people sprint out of the parking lot. Detectives are now asking the community to help track down whoever pulled the trigger.
According to Cleveland 19, witnesses said three men had been hanging around the boathouse parking lot when one of them pulled a gun and fired three to four shots toward the lake. The trio then took off in what was described as a newer model silver or gray Toyota Tacoma four-door pickup. Police said more shots were later reported in the 3100 block of Silver Lake Boulevard.
