CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – On a chilly Thursday in Canton, the Timken Gatehouse in Stadium Park was rededicated.
It’s a piece of Canton’s history, and it’ll be functional again in its “second” life.
In the future, the newly renovated gatehouse will serve as a small rental venue for community events and other gatherings.
For 80 years, it served as the eastern entrance to the Timken estate and later Timken hospital.
Timken family members were there, as were a couple of relatives of those who lived there and worked for the Timken family.
The Timken Gatehouse first opened in 1911 and closed in 1991…
