One person arrested following shots fired incident during welfare check in Ohio

OHIO — A man is in custody after deputies say he fired multiple shots during a welfare check Saturday night in Deerfield Township.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 9:41 p.m. to the 9700 block of Mason-Montgomery Road for a wellbeing check involving a man reportedly in crisis.

When deputies arrived at the scene, officials said they were met with gunfire coming from a second-floor room. Authorities reported that the suspect fired approximately 12 to 15 shots during the incident…
